IMD Issues Severe Rainfall Alert Throughout India, Cautioning of Flooding and Travel Disruptions
July 10, 2025, India As the monsoon heats up, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe rainfall advisory for several states nationwide. Over the next three to five days, there will likely be significant to extremely heavy rainfall, especially in areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Northeast India, and the Western Ghats.
It's possible for Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Palghar, and Nashik to get more than 200 mm of rain in a single day.
Following an earthquake this morning, moderate to heavy rainfall are expected to intensify the present waterlogging problems in Delhi-NCR.
